Aerial Photography Fees and Services

Northstar Imaging provides comprehensive professional aerial photography services including air to ground and air to air photography. 

FEES

Typical fees for oblique fixed wing aerial photography is $450.00 per subject with a maximum of one hour air time using digital capture. Additional flight time, if required, is billed at $50.00 per quarter hour.  Engagements within or adjacent to special use airspace and helicopter missions require a custom proposal.

Images are processed using Adobe Photoshop, assuring proper brightness, contrast and color balance. If needed, additional Photoshop and creative design work is available at $20.00 per quarter hour. We can provide, RAW, jpeg or tiff files. The full size raw files are 19.2 megabytes and will produce high quality images up to 30" x 40" and above. The jpeg version will be about 4 megabytes. 

We can present you with a fixed project price proposal for multiple properties or for a construction progress project with aerial photographs documenting the various stages of the construction process.  For more information on Construction Progress photography please click here.

We also offer an architectural and promotion package that includes aerial, exterior and interior architectural views. Please ask for a specific proposal.

Northstar Imaging offers aerial images for Critical Infrastructure Protection, homeland security plans, disaster preparedness, response and recovery. All shipping is by Fed Ex, with shipping fees being charged at cost.

USE

Northstar Imaging grants our aerial photography customers unrestricted right to use, modify and reproduce aerial images for promotion, publication, brochures, web applications. The customer receives full size digital files for their exclusive use. Additional use fees may apply to editorial and second party image sales and or licensing.

PRINT PURCHASES

Prints may be purchased in conjunction with an aerial photography engagement at the following price schedules. Prints are professional quality photographic prints, custom printed on Kodak Endura paper. (these are not ink jet prints). Prints are available in both color and classic black and white. You may make the selection at the time your prints are ordered.

The 4x6 aspect ratio prints are typical for digital and 35 mm image capture and the 4x5 aspect ratio is typical of medium and large format negatives. It may be possible to crop 4x6 digital images to the 4x5 aspect ratio prints if required.

CRYSTAL GRAPHICS

For prints 16x20 and larger, the digital files are custom processed using Crystal Graphics to assure the highest quality reproductions. Large prints also require inspection at the pixel level to remove undesired artifacts to assure a pristine print for viewing. 

CONTACT SHEETS

Digital CONTACT sheets are included with each engagement. These can be emailed as soon as the image processing is completed.

COLOR MANAGEMENT

Our monitors and color management process is calibrated with that of our processing labs. this calibration may not match your monitor or output process. As a result final adjustments on brightness, contrast, saturation and color balance may be required for your production system.

FILE SIZE AND TYPE

We can output images in JPEG, TIFF, PDF and RAW formats. If a file format is not specified we will use JPEG format. If you need a specific dpi (dot per inch) such as 300dpi please specify at the time the work is commissioned. RAW files are typically 19.28 megabytes and JPEG are approximately  4 megabytes.

Schedule and weather permitting rush services are available at the above fees plus 50%.

CONFIDENTIALITY

If your engagement encompasses confidential or sensitive information, Northstar Imaging can enter into a written non disclosure statement.

FORENSIC WORK

If your engagement is for a legal application that may require evidence for litigation or other court work, Imaging can be done in film to help establish that no digital manipulation of the image was applied. Sworn affidavits can be provided ascertaining time and location.

LOCATION

Our Central Pennsylvania location is a short distance from New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington. We work from both fixed wing aircraft and helicopters depending on project requirements.
